Chuck Rolwing

Charles Rolwing, is a widely exhibited visual artist, and a sporadically published poet living and working in Chicago. He received his B.A. from the University of Louisville in 1983. In 1986, Rolwing received a double MFA, in photography and printmaking from Ohio University. Upon graduation, he moved to Chicago where he showed his work with DeGraaf Gallery.

From 1986 to 1992, Rolwing was very active in the Chicago performance poetry scene, and was a featured poet in numerous venues, and small press publications. Most recently, he had a show of his paintings at Las Manos Gallery in Chicago, and was included in the publication, Art Scene Chicago 2000. His work has been represented by Judith Racht Gallery for the last 16 years.

There is an acutely integral relationship between Rolwing's visual work and his writing, as each fuels the other. His highly visual poetic style, utilizes personal symbolic juxtapositions in unusaul, non-linear ways, with an aim to create new depths of understanding, through the creation of oddly pointed questions.
